Summary
The Statutory Accounting Manager delivers quality services to Novartis Group entities, securing company assets by applying tight controls in the financial transactions, while providing accurate financial information and timely reporting of balances.
About the Role
• Performance Management and Service Delivery
• Act as single point of contact and special matter expert for accounting related topics, policies and processes for CFO and authorities/auditors
• Provide services at expected levels with a clear customer focus and escalates exceptions
• Close monitoring of changes in accounting standards and external requirements, timely reacts to these changes and initiates adequate process/system changes to ensures compliance
• Actively manage the collaboration with the Novartis Corporate Centers (NOCC), FRA Technical Accounting and business colleagues in Division to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting
• Proactively challenge the status quo and comes up with making fact based recommendations
• Support continuous improvements and process changes towards efficient and effective processes including sub-ledgers
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including accounting authorities/auditors
What you’ll bring to the role
- University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance or Certified Accountant/ Big 4 audit background desirable
- Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken)
- Significant working experience in Finance, with in-depth functional expertise and experience in managing financial shared services as well as projects driving performance (e.g. ERP implementation)
- Strong experience in statutory and IFRS accounting or from other finance areas (e.g. BPA) paired with strong ERP knowledge, S4Hana desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization with strong communication and collaboration skills
